
Trennepohl has co-authored two finance texts, Investment Management (1993) and An Introduction to Financial Management (1984), and has contributed chapters for two other books Options: Essential Concepts and Trading Strategies (1990, 1995, 2000) and The Encyclopedia of Investments (1988). He also has authored or co-authored more than 30 professional journal articles. Trennepohl is active in many professional organizations and served as President of the Financial Management Association, (1993-1994), which has 10,000 professional and student members worldwide. In addition to his academic appointments he has served as a consultant to pension funds (Shell Pension Trust), corporations, and financial institutions. He is a visiting faculty member for the Options Institute at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), presenting periodic seminars on investment strategies to institutional investment managers from around the world. Since 1983 he also has conducted yearly financial analysis seminars for business journalists who write for business periodicals and local and national newspapers, including the New York Times and USA Today. Trennepohl grew up in Tulsa and attended public schools, graduating from Nathan Hale High School in 1964. In June 1968 he received a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Tulsa and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. Also, in June 1968 he married Sandra Yeager, a native Tulsan. While serving on active duty from 1968 to 1974, he received a regular officer appointment, and was awarded the Viet Nam Service Medal and Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster. In 1971 Trennepohl earned an MBA from Utah State University, and in 1976 he received his Ph.D. in Finance from Texas Tech University. Sandra (Yeager) Trennepohl was born in Tulsa and educated in the public schools, graduating from Edison High School in 1964. She also studied dance in Tulsa for many years. Sandra received a bachelor's degree in Speech from the University of Tulsa in June 1968 and a master's degree in Curriculum and Supervision from Texas Tech University in 1973. From 1968 to 1971 she taught high school English and speech in Utah and from 1972 to 1976 she taught reading in Lubbock, Texas public schools. She became a full time mother and community volunteer in 1977 when Paige Elizabeth was born. Adrienne Amanda was born in 1980. Paige and Adrienne are both graduates of Oklahoma State University. |
