The OSU-Tulsa Police Department, in partnership with Marketing and Communications Services and Human Resources, maintains and communicates information about safety on campus.
OSU-Tulsa's official methods of communication include email, the OSU-Tulsa website, Cowboy Alert and social media. Students, faculty and staff are always encouraged to check their OSU email first and the website second for information regarding weather and other emergency campus closures. Information will also be posted to Facebook and Twitter as it becomes available.
If you witness or are victim to a crime, or if you spot suspicious activity on campus, immediately contact the OSU-Tulsa Police.

Cowboy Alert

OSU and OSU-Tulsa use the Cowboy Alert system to notify students, faculty and staff in an emergency. Notifications may be sent for events including:
  • Campus closure

  • A campus intruder

  • Acts of terrorism

  • Biohazard threats

In a situation deemed an emergency, OSU-Tulsa officials will send a text message to registered members of the OSU-Tulsa community with information regarding the event and how they should proceed.
Students, faculty and staff who spend time on multiple campuses should opt-in to receive notifications for all campuses they visit to ensure they receive the appropriate alerts.

Rave Guardian

Free Safety App
As part of Oklahoma State University’s commitment to campus safety, the campus has adopted Rave Guardian, a free mobile app that turns any smartphone into a personal safety resource. The Rave Guardian app can be downloaded in the Apple or Google Play app stores by searching for “Rave Guardian.”

Weather Safety

Guidelines and Emergency Closures
Weather in Oklahoma can be unpredictable, particularly in the winter. OSU-Tulsa makes every effort to keep campus open and clear of ice, snow and other impediments. In the event of a severe weather threat or emergency closure, we have helpful tips and resources available to our campus community.
